I recently finished this game on PS4, just a few weeks ago.Ī really great game, I enjoyed it both as a fan of tactical strategy games and Warhammer 40,000. MandaloreGaming's review will do a much better job of explaining the details but if you are in the mood for a solid tactical experience I - so far - can heartily recommend this one.
#Warhammer 40k mechanicus full
I'm only a couple of missions in but there is full skill trees for each of your 6 Tech-Priests, shock troops that can be deployed using Cognition to help on the field and gear for your Priests that shows up on the model. The neat thing is that you can chain these collections together and travel a long way on just one turn, collect more points at the end and then attack. This Cognition is used to power certain skills and allows you to move further on the field. There is a resource called Cognition that can be collected in various ways - from objects in the environment, from killing enemies, skills on the skill tree and there is even a unit that gives a point when damaged (the explanation given is that the Adeptus Mechanicus take notes when your troops get shot). The tactical side of things has a cool wrinkle. Really impressed so far - the sound design, music and atmosphere are top notch. I was in the mood for a tactical game and stumbled across Mechanicus for £10 online for PS4 so I thought - why not.
